Scientific Seminar: “Al-Mawʿūd between Denial and Belief: A Comparison between Religious and Orientalist Perspectives” with the Participation of the Imam Mobin Research Center
This seminar was presented by Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Munjid al-Hamid al-Kaabi (Director of the Warith al-Anbiya Center, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Director of the Qur’anic Department at Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, and Expert on Arabic Media Networks) and moderated by Professor Navid Yari (Faculty of Arabic Language and Cultural Studies, Higher Education Complex of Language, Literature, and Cultural Studies).

Dr. al-Kaabi addressed various aspects of Mahdism, beginning with its concept in different religions. He noted that belief in a savior and redeemer exists across many faiths and cultures.

He then focused on Mahdism in Islam, emphasizing its special significance among Muslims, particularly Shiʿa, citing Qur’anic verses such as Al-Warithin and Al-Ikmal as scriptural evidence, and discussed relevant Prophetic traditions (Hadiths).

Dr. al-Kaabi also examined orientalist perspectives on Mahdism, analyzing their interpretations and highlighting the connection between Mahdism and political issues, as well as its role in social and political developments.

In the concluding part, he explored the views of both believers and deniers of Mahdism, providing a detailed analysis of differing perspectives.
